Some tips on eating canned fish:
- It's important to choose good-quality preserves. Once the can is opened, store the leftover contents in a glass container in the refrigerator.
- Canned goods should be stored in cool, dry places, protected from heat and light. Older containers will be positioned first as the first choice for consumption.
- Avoid buying cans or containers with scratches, bumps or dents.
- Wash cans before consumption if you are going to eat directly from them and the containers were not protected with cardboard cases.
- The shelf life of canned goods is 6 years for products in oil and 4 years for natural products.
- Discard canned goods if signs of rust appear on the edges, the can is bulging, foam appears inside the can, or the liquid inside has a bad appearance/aroma.
