Philosophy and Values of The Compass

Commitment to the origin.

Each product is born from a careful selection of vegetables grown on land near our facilities, in the fertile Ribera Navarra region. Seasonality and the natural cycle are respected, ensuring that only the best of each season reaches the canning process, thus preserving the authentic flavor and natural properties of the product.

Handcrafted with respect.

Production follows artisanal methods that guarantee maximum quality without resorting to additives or processes that alter the natural flavor. From harvesting to packaging, each step is rigorously supervised to maintain the texture, freshness, and original essence of the vegetables, just as it was in its beginnings more than 70 years ago.

Constant innovation

History and tradition are complemented by a firm commitment to innovation in processes and quality. Continuous research allows us to improve without losing the essence, guaranteeing products that satisfy the most demanding palates, with certifications and strict controls that guarantee excellence in every can.

La Tienda de las Conservas

Petra López: the origin of a tradition that honors the flavor of Navarra

During the Spanish Civil War, in Mendavia, Petra López —grandmother of the current owner of La Catedral de Navarra— began preserving vegetables with her own hands. She used tin to seal jars full of asparagus, peppers, artichokes, and tomatoes harvested from her garden, and she also prepared preserves for neighbors in the village.

In a difficult time, when food was scarce and ingenuity was vital, Petra not only nourished but also preserved the soul of the Navarre region . Its small family workshop became the seed of a brand that, decades later, remains true to that heritage.

Since then, the family has perfected the art of preserving, respecting the season and working only with the best raw materials. Each jar of La Catedral de Navarra is more than a product: it is a story of effort, authenticity and a deep love for the Navarrese countryside.

Legacy

Since its beginnings, a story guided by effort and passion, which today remains true to the value of authenticity and naturalness.
