Merens Winery - Ribeiro

TASTING NOTES:

Appearance: Pale yellow with green and lemon highlights. Clean, transparent, and bright. Good tear flow.

Nose: Complex and intense nose, with a terpenic character, white and hairy fruits, pear, apple, peach... Floral notes, acacia, myrtle, chamomile and light balsamic nuances, mint, spearmint and sage notes.

Palate: Broad, with a light oily texture, full, enveloping and glyceric, slightly acidic, with good structure and very long, fruity.

Vineyard: This is a Colleiteiro winery with its own production on 3.5 hectares of vineyards. The soils are granitic with a sandy loam texture and an average depth of 70–100 cm. Located on moderately steep slopes bridged by steep slopes, the varieties used are native to the Ribeiro region: Treixadura, Godello, Torrontés, Loureira, and Lado. The winery prioritizes vineyard work to obtain the highest quality grapes.

Winemaking: No. 6 grape varieties, all Galician, are used in the production of this wine. These varieties are macerated in a pneumatic press with dry ice for 4-6 hours (the cold helps preserve the grape's aromas, thus achieving greater intensity). Fermentation takes place for 21 days in stainless steel tanks, where the wine remains for 8 months on fine lees, which give it greater structure and density.
