Buy Mariscadora scallop: the classic Galician recipe, ready to open
Baked scallop is one of the most recognisable dishes of Galician cuisine, a fixture of any festive table. When you buy Mariscadora scallop you get that recipe ready in a tin: scallop cooked in a tomato sauce with onion, wine, parsley, olive oil and breadcrumbs, with a touch of cayenne that lifts the whole dish.
Limited 60th anniversary edition in a collector's box
This tin is part of the special edition Mariscadora has created to celebrate its 60 years: six references in an individual collector's box, in limited quantities. The cannery was founded in 1966 on the Ría de Arousa and today produces in Cambados (Pontevedra, Galicia), using its own sauce recipes refined over decades.
How to serve it as an appetiser
Enjoy it as it is at room temperature, or warm it for a few minutes in a bain-marie so the sauce opens up. To show it off, place it on a scallop shell, sprinkle a little more breadcrumb on top and give it a quick blast under the grill: it will look straight out of the oven. Don't forget bread for the sauce, which is half the pleasure of the dish. It pairs very well with an Albariño from the Rías Baixas.
A gourmet gift that presents itself
Thanks to the box there is no need to wrap it: a perfect gift for Christmas or for any lover of Galician seafood. And for tin collectors it is a dated piece, made only for the company's 60th anniversary.
